Bel Aire, Kansas City Building 2006

Water/Sewer Issues

Chisholm Creek Authority
Prior to establishing the Chisholm Creek Utility Authority, the City of Bel Aire received all of its water from City of Wichita. The City of Wichita contract stipulated that they, the City of Wichita, could determine what areas beyond Bel Aire’s city limits could be supplied with Wichita water. By developing their own water supply, Bel Aire could supply water to their new developments without Wichita. Please click here to view or post your comments on this issue.

Wichita Water Contract
While Bel Aire receives most of their water through the Chisholm Creek Utility Authority, the city is still under contract with the City of Wichita for a minor portion of its water supply. The contract expires in 2008. BA has the option to renew the contract at a significantly higher rate or rely solely on CCUA for its water supply. Please click here to view or post your comments on this issue.

Sewer Charges
Currently sewer charges are based on a residence or business water usage. The alternative would be to have a set monthly fee regardless of usage. Please click here to view or post your comments on this issue.
